Rendili StarDrive
Corporate Shipyard at Rendili

The shipyards at Rendili are composed of orbital multi-space docks, starting outside the orbit of Rendili and extending well beyond the outer planets of the system, a huge conglomeration only comparable to, yet smaller than, the massive shipyards at Kuat and Corellia. The majority of the complex was constructed under Emperor Palpatine, but for the purpose of increased construction of Kuat Drive Yard's Imperial Star Destroyer, rather than Rendili's own ships, to the corporation's dismay. Rendili was largely ignored by Emperor C'baoth, being merely another site for supply of his war machine and well away from the main battles of the time.

Today, large sections of the shipyards are inactive, crewed only by maintainance droids and under the watch of powerful sensor arrays. The main activities are centered around and on Rendili itself or near the gas giant Pyrido Xine.

The shipyards are protected by Rendili Space Defense Platforms, impressive guardians against unauthorized intrusion. Uncountable defense platforms once filled the yards to protect one of Palpatine's most important shipyards. However, with his fall and the needs of the Imperial militay laying elsewhere, the vast majority of the platforms were either taken to more vital positions or dismantled for more resources for the Star Destroyers still constructed there and elsewhere.

In the end, when the Empire was finally pushed away by the New Republic on its drive to the Core, only twelve of the platforms remained. One actually had an Imperial Star Destroyer docked for repairs needed after the conflict in the region, but was abandoned and forgotten in the utter collapse. One was moved to Vaufthau, a world belonging to a corporation associated with and absorbed by Rendili three thousand years ago. Another was moved to the Trianni homeworld when to the corporation's surprise the species requested a strong corporate presence to keep the Corporate Sector at bay. Several other platforms, the oldest ones and in need of heavy repairs, were dismantled for ready materials needed in making a defense for the allies' worlds. Today only five platforms remain in the system, providing a tight defense in the active portion of the shipyards.

The shipyards at Rendili are facilitated to construct a number of models, including the classic Victory-class Star Destroyer of Clone Wars fame and the Dreadnaught Cruiser, backbone of the Navy of the Republic. It is thought that some day, the shipyards will once again be tooled to mass produce the Imperial Star Destroyer, though research teams are hard at work under Walex Blissex to develop a new class of Star Destroyer to regain Rendili's role as the main supplier of warships to the galactic government.
