A Branch of Personalities
The unifying aspect of most of the characters in the Nobles and Rogues branch is the strength and uniqueness of the branch's personalities. From the nobility of the greatest Core Worlds to the transient fringers of the Outer Rim, from the unaligned Jedi who seek to purify their spirits to the greedy Dark Jedi loners who wish only to sate their own personal sense of ambition, these characters are either larger than life or simply present unique roleplaying opportunities.
The Universal Theme: Civil War
The war between the Empire and the Republic rages on, with massive battles breaking out over worlds of galactic importance, such as Chandrila and Lianna. This influences everything that happens in the galaxy, with once-allied noble houses finding themselves on opposite sides, neutral worlds caught in between the sides being ripped apart, and jobs drying up -- or, for those in some fields, exploding -- as the war affects the galactic population. In some places, such as protected enclaves or rimward backwaters, the war is distant, and a local noble or interstellar transient might find peace from the war, for a time. But there is always the threat that it will spill over into previously safe areas, as it already has across the galaxy.
